Recent Shenanigans

OK! So finally I am able to access my blog, its been a while, close to 3 months since I have been able to write anything and I really apologize the few people who actually really read this (thanks for your support mom and Toni.) Anyway, long story short, the Turkish government blocked it for a lawsuit that I don't know the details to. Google it.

Here is a quick update of what I have been up to, I have been a busy little bee over here most of my days are filled with work more work some gym time, and then work again! I was able to get a job at a school literally 2 blocks from my house. Its called Language Land and I am an English teacher there. Monday through Friday I teach two classes one of 4-5 year olds and another 6-7 year olds. Its a totally different experience in that they seem to hold more respect for someone who is a "teacher" in a classroom rather then a "teacher" who lives in the house. I love my little class room with my smart board, my bulletin board, and the way that I get to decorate it with the kid's pictures we make during activity period. Basically my day starts off at 730am where I help get the kids ready for and off to school which really is just make sure they are up and getting dressed, have their socks on and are sitting there waiting for the driver at 8am. Then I have about an hour to myself where I usually watch the news while drinking coffee and occasionally study Turkish (something I have been meaning to do more of.) Then at 930am I leave for school and am there till about 1230pm. After that I will go see friends for coffee or hit up the gym! Then be home by 4pm for more work with the kiddos! Having a real job in Turkey makes me really step out of the tourist element and feel like I am an actual Turkish citizen living here. Another thing that I LOVE is that my street has everything on it that I could possibly need. Literally from food, clothing, groceries, hair, nails, coffee, shopping of all kinds, carpets, furniture, EVERYTHING even car maintaince and a dominos. There is nothing that I could possibly need that I can't get on my street. Its probably the best street in Istanbul. Here are some photos of the kids from my school.
