There is a Reason for Every Rhyme

There is a reason that things happen, and I am one to believe that things happen for a reason. I know I just said the same thing but in reverse and tried to make a point of it when really what I want to do here is emphasise that things happen and sometime we understand the reason while other times we dont. I am currently on a huge high from my exciting and adventurous new years and from the past 13 days. Not only have I been n cloud nine but also ten and eleven if such exists.  For New years eve this year (2011) me, my friends Ashuly, Bob. Chris and Shane all went night snow shoeing out by Mt. Bachelor. We stopped at a snow park named Edison and took a 2.5 mile hike in to a shelter named AC/DC Shelter. It was an adventure by far. The trail was well carved and it was pretty easy to get ourselves motivated in the zero degree weather. I fell in love with snow shoing this year, I love the deep stuff, trying to run in it, trying to jog my own path and using all my leg muscles to push through to the next hill top Shane and I had a race up this 30 ft ish hill and it was so steap that it was almost impossible to carve our feet into the side enough for leverage. The entire hike took no longer then about 2 hours and when we finally got to the shelter there was food, dry wood, a stove, matches, and anything you could possibly need in order to stay warm on a sub zero snow hike night. We snuggled up by the fire and rang in the new year with hot coco and trail mix, Ashuly came up with the great idea of giving each other a compliment. So each person had to say one good/nice thing about each person. It was both humbling and comical it definitely set the mood for our amazing new years adventure.
On our way back to the car I was overcome with a sense of just pure joy. I realized I am a very lucky person to have such great people in my life. My friends my family and all the positive influences around me. I want to start the New Year with a thank you to those people!
