Long, Long, Long Day

Today was one of the longest days I have had yet. It started around 5am when I couldn't sleep so up I got and started my day with a little journal writing. The kids thankfully got up early and so I was occupied from the start. I wanted to go on a run in the am but it was raining pretty hard which was a lame excuse I know. It ended up raining pretty much all day. Which meant that Ege and I were stuck inside just dying to go out on a clean terrace for a picnic (which was promised the previous day but shh... I think he forgot.) Anyway Huma went out to meet a friend and was not home until after 3pm which meant that Ege and I had the entire day together! He is a the best little two year old when you can keep him busy. I tried my hardest to keep him away from the TV which works well since he has so many options like his new "Motor Araba bike" which is actually just a scooter but that's what he calls it.

He has been a picky eater lately so we play lots of exhausting games to make him eat his food like "Here come the fishies, will the big bad shark eat the fishies?" and his favorite at the moment "Eat this bite so you can be fast like Lightning McQueen." (car from the Disney film Cars.) Another thing Ege loves to do... which is adorable but again... can be somewhat overwhelming. He repeats himself like 80 times!!!! "When is mommy coming?" "Where is car?" Whats that Ash-a-lee?" "Why Ash-a-lee?" "I want Caillou! Why Caillou not on?" He will say these things on and on forever and ever! I mean I love it I even recorded it but sometimes its like come on Ege, get tired of saying that....

When Huma finally got home I only had about 45 minutes until I was off to a playdate with 3 little 5 year old kids whos mommies want them to learn English. It was a lot of running around and jumping. We sang the head and shoulders song like 50 times and played this bus counting game. I was exhausted when I came home! Now its tea time, blog time, and omg omg omg!!! I found a cord that works with my blackberry and I just uploaded a new running playlist... so excited!!! Check out my running blog ashleyrun.blogspot.com!!!
