South to Warmer Weather

So after frezing our butts off in Berlin we decieded to move on down south to some warm weather. We took a night train that left Berlin Oct. 17 around 11pm and got to Cremona Italy the next day at 1pm. We opted to pay 20 euro more for the sleeper beds at night which really made all the difference in my train experience. I was able to sleep from like midnight till 7am when some German women came around and woke everyone up that needed to get up. the train ride was really nice, there were warm beds, blankets, and reading lights for each spot. Once it was daylight we switched trains and mamma mia! Italian trains are nothing like German and Swiss trains. They are not as well kepts, they swing and move akwardly, not all the lights work, it doesnt look like they have been cleaned in a while. We met up with Kevin in Cremona Italy (a town about the size of Bend). I wanted to comment about the landscapes of the countries I have been in so far, ok so you have Spain which the part we saw was plain, dry, colors of yellow, red, and orange dirt almost like a desert scene, then there was Switzerland whos landscape was GREEN very lush, wet, more green then parts of Washington and Oregon. Germany had weather and landscapes almost exactly like Eugene, hills, valleys, green everywhere and rain. Then there was norhern and (I guess its "central" Italy) aka Roma which had different landscapes all together. The northern part was very similar to Bend, Redmond and the high desert area where there is some shrubs, trees that are mostly green but not like what you see in the valley, it was warmer and dryer as well in Cremona (very much like Bend actually however I am not sure how much snow they get if any.) Rome is like northern Cali kinda green, kinda like a high desert, kinda like Madras (if you have been there you will know what I mean). I m iss all my family, around the time we came to Cremona we were in need of a rest, it had been a month and just to relax and rest for 2 weeks was a much needed refresher.
