Oh man, has life given me some of the most amazing experiences and the most inspirational influences. I love every piece of my life, my busy style of moving from day to day. I actually hit a mental block the other day that set me back an entire afternoon (on no right?) I really was not able to focus or think, decision making was impossible and even holding a conversation was a struggle. What caused this mental lock up was a week of uncertainty leading to probably the best outcome I could have wanted which then lead to my brain just breaking down in pure joy that I was so lucky but at the same time exhaustion.
I had to move out of my dads house, it was just not the place for me to live, and would require too much time and effort to go into the details right now. I spent a week full of anxiety looking for a place to live that was not too expensive, close to town ( I don't own a car) and something that was comfortable for me and BAM positivity and good karma smack me in the face and I meet this amazing person who just happens to need someone to move in asap.
Its this little place in Redmond Oregon where a couple of seasonal smoke jumpers live. During the winter hours they tend to leave the area either for random work, to visit family or to travel. So at the moment I am actually occupying this house by myself till February. If anyone wants to come and hang out please feel free, cause I tend to get bored easily.
Anyway, there are several new goals I am setting myself up for, first of all the book challenge I read about in the paper where you read a book a week for an entire year! Think I can do it? Well I do! I am also starting up my classes and studying for the GRE which I will be taking soon, for what reason is yet to be determined but I hear you should take it. Another one is learning how to cook, I have this book in my house that is owned by one of my roommates and its labled "how to cook anything" and they have a step by step process on the general cooking techniques of veggies, meats, pastries, pastas, salads etc. I also want to looking to organic gardening and get one set up for this spring. It will be my first one and hopefully successful. I am training for my first marathon here too, its coming up in January and I hope it all works out! I got the best compliment the other day at work, this women came in and was like "are you a runner?" and I said "ya I run" she said " I can tell by your legs" It made my freakin month! I have been an avid member of the Redmond Running Klub and have gotten to meet some great people and rope my friends into doing it as well. The guy that started it Dan Edwards is awesome and a great motivator for me to keep running just for fun and just because.
I am sure there are tons of other things I should update you all on but the most important one is for you all to go and read some of my short stories in my short stories tab, they are new and not finished but i want some feedback on what people think. I have already submitted some of them to Lonely planet a travel agency so read them and tell me what you think!
one love
Ashley
