Today is the day that I, Ashley Renee Perry, will admit to a silly mistake made by yours truely. Thank god this mistake was not made in public and really it never left my head but when I came to the realization of "Oh my god I cant believe I thought that" I was very relieved I never let the "misunderstanding" leave my mouth.
So ever since I arrived in Istanbul 7 ish months ago I have always associated the name "Mustafa" with a service man. Let me explain... Turkish people have titles they call one another to make things more formal and proper for example the kids call me Abla which means "big sister" Abi means "big brother" and there is "teyze" which when added after a name means "aunt" and "amca" for uncle. So when I started to notice that the drivers name was Mustafa, the towel guys name was mustafa and the guy who came to fix the shower his name was mustafa too. Therefore I honestly thought mustafa was a name given to someone who was aiding or servicing you in some way. Cherish this moment family its one of the few mistakes I will admit to and say its ok that you laugh at.
But I mean seriously?
