Mission Accomplished

Sometimes I amaze me, and this time I really amazed me! Tonight is one for the history books and here is why. Huma had to run some late night errands so I am home with Ece and Ege for the night. This is an easy enough task since its close to bedtime I decided on letting them have their pudding snacks while watching a movie. It started out great, Ege didn't seem to be paying too much attention to the movie choosing process so Ece chose a Winks film. *if you have not heard of Winks just google it. I am not even kidding 5 minutes into the movie Ege starts screaming for the Big Garage movie that he loves. *again google it if you care to know what this film is about. It took about 10 minutes of me persuading Ege to at least watch one Winks film since it was Ece favorite then we would watch one Big Garage film since it was his favorite. Part of me thinks that Ege didn't understand me while the other part thinks he just knows if he cries enough I will put on the one he likes. Either way, he won since it was easier to explain to Ece why I was changing her movie she so nicely picked out and then so nicely let me change so that her brother would stop crying... so Ece if you are older and reading this I thank you for preventing the headache that this argument could have given me. After a while of watching the movie (which they were not watching at all and just running around singing) It was time for bed.. I thought yeah right.... there is no way I will get both of these kids to bed at the same time.

My problem is that I cant spend 30 minutes putting Ege to sleep with Ece up and about, it makes me nervous that I don't know what she is doing and visa versa so into mommies bed they both go with me in the middle and a load of books to read. At first and to my surprise Ece was the restless one making all the noise, singing wiggling, and being annoying while Ege was actually still, quiet and sleepy. I had to tell her to go wait for me in her room while Ege fell asleep. Ece I think got scared in her room alone so eventually came back and slept with Ege and me. Ece and Ege fall sleep so differently it astonishes me. Ece is easier, give it 2 maybe 3 stories and she is out like a light and snoring. Ege is much harder, he moves a lot talks to you, and takes about 30 minutes to even get sleepy then another 10 minutes to actually fall asleep. The best way I have figured out to put him to sleep is to bore him with a song. Twinkle Twinkle little Star and Mary had a little Lamb are his favorites. Just sing them over and over and over and over and soon he is sleeping too. While Ece falls asleep and you know it, Ege is more difficult to judge. Even the slightest movement and he is awake again so you really must make sure he is snoozing before moving.

Tonight all in all it only took about 45 minutes to get them both sleeping... However they are both in Huma's bed... Next time I will attempt to move one of them but this time I will count myself lucky!

PS best little kid snack ever... coco pops
