So there are several events going on in this post and they were for the most part on different days. If you did not get the chance to check out my Istanbul Half Marathon Run... well click here for the link to my ashley runs blog to read about it. There is no point in me writing about it twice other then the most important part.... my time which was 2:15:58! Not as good as Berlin but still good, like I say in my other blog I am blaming the heat on this one.
That's not want this blog will be about however, I have so many adventures in Istanbul I have yet to tell you all about. Starting with my adventures with Ege! If you are new Ege is the adorable, hug-gable, kissable, little two year old I get to look after while in Istanbul. Here is my new favorite picture of me and him, he has been mentioned a ton in the blog and there are other pics about! We were eating out at one of our favorite places along the bosphorus, Abracadabra.
This place is amazing, all their food is organic right down to the soaps used to clean the plates and such. The spices, herbs, noodles, rice, veggies, fruits and meats come from only the most organic, most pure, and of course the best places they are available! This family owned business has traveled all over Turkey and the world to help make their food the best as well as unique. I have never heard of a philosophy so great and a family so dedicated to their work and making everyone else taste buds tingle! You must go to this place if you ever are visiting Istanbul! Ege, being the little monster that he is could not sit still so we had a photo shoot and looked at some boats and cars. This was also the day that I took a jog, literally up the European Fortress. This fortress was build in the 15th century to help protect the European side of the Bosphorus from the invaders on the Asian side. Its located at the narrowest and swiftest part of the Bosphorus and was a great way to work off the food from Abracadabra! Here are some photos!
